216 DPI is the balanced default; WebP uses a visually lossless content-aware recommendation.

ImgIng rebuilds text, vectors and images at the page’s true dimensions and selected DPI, then uses the existing image encoders. 216 DPI balances screen detail and size; 300 DPI suits print or downstream OCR.
A very tall page or one with many fonts and vector resources is rendered in safe-height slices and composited back at the original coordinates. Nothing is cropped and the page aspect ratio does not change.
Every page keeps the same scale and is stacked vertically. Only when the combined pixels or encoder dimensions exceed the browser’s safe ceiling is the entire stack proportionally reduced; finished slices are released immediately.
